[bangs pots and pans together] NEW!! PAGE!! NEW!! PAGE!!
I accumulated a nice little batch of pages to work on during my hiatus. I messed around with a lot of lighting effects and layer overlays on this page.
he's literally over here like ( ⚆ _ ⚆ )
And thank you! I was trying something new with rim lighting, glad it looks alright!
"SIR, YOUR HAIR IS AS FINE AS ANGEL HAIR PASTA!!!"
And congratulations on the new page!
The unspoken tragedy is that he WOULD actually say that.
And thank you! We only have 7 or 8 more pages left in this chapter.
Gabriel is becoming less and less subtle about dragging things out of him. And Gideon is becoming less and less capable of keeping his mouth shut, a feat which he was already decidedly incapable of.
I can't tell if Gabriel latched onto Gideon because he's easy to do this sort of thing to, or if Gideon's become like this because of Gabriel. Maybe a lil' of both.
You're getting pretty close to the reason why Gabriel latched onto Gideon, and it's true that Gabriel's influence on him has been extremely negative. I'm resisting the urge to drop a huge lore dump in here and spoil stuff.
Man I know theres something up with gabey there from reading the cast page and your commentary on twitter, but i really love how you write the guy as caring in that veiled, malicious way that bad friends do, very well done
Also LOVING the background shifts along with the tone of emotion, so much drama and tension!
Yep, you're right on the money. That veiled malice is an integral part of his character, and in a way I find that trait scarier than a slasher who's straight-up chasing you around with a chainsaw. At least it's easy to tell that the chainsaw guy doesn't have good intentions...
And thank you!! I messed around with weird effects for the backgrounds here and I'm happy it works! :3
Thank you!
I made the font I use for dialogue! I used Calligraphr to create it, which is a great resource. I originally used a premade font for dialogue, but I wanted the lettering to match the hand that drew the art.
However, I still use premade fonts for effect where appropriate. When Gideon is saying "YES" and "ALRIGHT FINE", I used a Blambot font called "Full Bleed."
Edit: I feel like I should add the font I created is based off “VTC Letterer Pro,” which is a freeware font you can do anything with. I drew over the letterforms with my own brushes and edited the kerning/line weight/letter shapes. Also created a bold version because VTC doesn’t have a bold weight.
It must be horrible to feel so wound up about such a simple thing. I've had similar experiences in the past where I've said something I wished I hadn't but now I realise most people are far more concerned about their own mistakes than they are mine.
