Updated with color version! The inside of Gideon's house turned out even creepier than I thought it would.
We are getting closer and closer to learning why this story is called Krazy Noodle Massacre.
I painted the whole thing in Procreate. I now understand why this software is so popular.
Your coloring looks impressive, I like that you avoided that too-smooth look that often digital coloring has. Procreate seems an interesting software, a pity it's only for Apple devices.
Thank you! I was a traditional art for most of my life. When I switched over to digital, I wanted to capture the traditional look while taking advantage of the speed and convenience of the computer. I do wish that Procreate was available across more platforms, but Infinite Painter is pretty good paint software if you have an Android tablet. I still use it to flat pages on my iPad because its selection tool is better than Procreate’s.
This scene is paced so well, there’s such a focus on letting it breathe and really having it immerse us all in its foreboding charm.
I absolutely love the way you give cartoony shapes to props and backgrounds (and characters too)! Getting yummy visual treats on every page in the combo of a neat art style and pretty colors. :D *resumes to reading further*
Thank you!! Stylizing inanimate objects like they’re characters of their own is a lot of fun for me. :]
As dungeons go this one feels kinda cosy but the lack of furniture is certainly a bit disturbing as are his fixation with bird prints.
